The Prayers of the Righteous

James 5:16b: … The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Is the Lord hearing you? Are you righteous?  As we stand in the gap as intercessors, our goal is to be sure that we qualify our prayers and stand in a position to be heard. Nobody is perfect, but we can strive to walk in obedience to the Lord and keep our lives free from sin.  After all, it is the sin that separates us from God: Isaiah 59:2: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. It’s a perfect time for reflection and honesty concerning where we stand with the Lord.  Let’s make a shift, and purge our lives of situations where the Lord face is hidden from us: – if we have unforgiveness in our hearts towards another (Matthew 18:19). – if we are living in sexual sin. – if we are regarding, cherishing or holding iniquity in our hearts (Psalm 66:18).
